Fountain County farmland set for Jan. 18 auction
Approximately 340 acres of western Indiana farmland will be offered at auction Jan. 18, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the land and conducting the event.
The land will be offered in five tracts, ranging from 57 to 82 acres.
“All of this land is tillable except the road frontage, and it includes some excellent quality soils. Three of the tracts totaling 195 acres are contiguous, at the intersection of US 41 and SR 55 in Fountain County. The other two tracts – 82 acres and 63 acres, respectively – are located directly across SR 55 from each other,” said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.
“This will be one of the first opportunities of the new year to obtain productive land for the 2016 crop season, and these are excellent tracts for operators or for investors. In the Schrader method of bidding, bidders who seek a small amount of land will be able to compete on an equal footing with those who may desire to buy all of the farm. It is approximately 30 miles from Lafayette, and 65 miles from Terre Haute and Champaign, Illinois,” said Schrader.
The auction will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern on Monday, January 18, at the Beef House, 16501 North St. Road 63, Covington. Online bidding will be available by advance registration. Individuals interested in additional information may visit schraderauction.com or call 800-451-2709.
