Six southwest Wisconsin farms set for Schrader auction
Six southwest Wisconsin farms totaling approximately 1,153 acres will be offered at auction Thursday, Nov. 21, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the properties and managing the sale.
"These farms offer 755 acres of tillable farmland with good, highly productive soils. There's also about 80 acres of nice pasture and some recreational land in an area noted for its excellent deer and turkey hunting," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company. "These farms are equally well suited either for area farmers wishing to add to their holdings or for investors."
All six farms are located within a seven-mile radius in Grant County. They range in size from 55 acres to 340 acres and will be offered in 15 tracts. The land will be available for the 2014 crop year, and 2013 hunting rights are available.
The properties are located approximately 15 miles from Prairie Du Chien, 25 miles from Dubuque, and 30 miles from Dodgeville.
"Most of the land is situated so that those seeking cropland without recreational land or pasture can acquire that, while hunters or cattlemen can bid on acreage that specifically suits their needs. One tract also has a four-bedroom home, livestock buildings and equipment buildings," said Schrader.
The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Grant County Youth & Ag Building at the Grant County Fairgrounds. Schrader personnel will be available to provide detailed information on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to noon, and on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
