Large auction of irrigated Arkansas farmland set for Nov. 14

BRINKLEY, Ark. (Oct. 22, 2013) - Approximately 1,741 acres of contiguous Arkansas farmland will be offered in a major land auction Thursday, Nov. 14, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company managing the event.
"This is an incredible opportunity for investors and operators alike, because we just haven't seen many contiguous irrigated farms of this size and quality on the market," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The land - located in Lee and Monroe Counties midway between Little Rock and Memphis - includes approximately 1,530 acres of cropland, with 1,491 irrigated acres. It will sell in four tracts ranging from 130 acres to 730 acres.
"With productive soils, good well water, 15 wells and grain storage for 60,000 bushels, this property provides a rare opportunity that should interest not only area farmers, but investors of all sizes. Crops have included cotton, rice, soybeans, corn and wheat," said Schrader. "With the land offered in tracts as small as 130 acres, bidders can compete on an equal footing whether they're seeking all the land or a single tract. We could have one buyer of all the property or as many as four."

The auction will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Brinkley Convention Center, 1501 Weatherby Drive, Brinkley, Ark. Schrader personnel will be available at the site from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, to provide detailed information and guide inspections. Individuals seeking additional information about the auction may visit www.schraderauction.com or call 451-2709.
