Land near downtown Tulsa set for Aug. 20 auction
Approximately 310 acres of land northwest of Tulsa's Central Business District will be offered at auction Tuesday, Aug. 20, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the property and managing the event.
Approximately half the land -- 160 acres -- is located at Osage Drive/43rd Street and N 25th W Avenue and will sell in eight tracts ranging in size from 10.8 to 47.9 acres. The rest -- 149.6 acres -- is approximately 3.5 miles to the south, bordered by 33rd W Avenue, West Edison Street and 41st W. Avenue. It will sell in 12 tracts, ranging from 3.2 to 37.1 acres.
"These properties have a great deal of frontage and are all located within a few minutes of Tulsa's Central Business District. Most is currently open pasture and woodland, but we expect considerable interest in much of it as development land. The tracts in the group to the north are less than a mile from Osage Casino, with frontage on the recently expanded 43rd Street. The southern group of tracts is right across the street from Central High School," said Brent Wellings, who manages Schrader's Southwest operations.
The southern group of properties includes a 22-acre tract with a pond, adjacent a 37-acre tract with a creek running through it. "These properties have good potential for recreation, as well as numerous potential sites for homes. Bidders will be able to offer bids for combinations of tracts, and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone combine a good bit of this land," he said.
The auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Post Oak Lodge, 5323 W. 31st Street North, Tulsa.
