Terre Haute area land auction to include farmland, hunting land, lakes
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (May 1, 2013) -- Approximately 1,600 acres of land near Terre Haute -- including farmland, hunting land and lakes -- will sell at auction Monday, June 10, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company managing the sale.
The property includes approximately 935 acres of farmland and 525 acres of wooded land, as well as abundantly stocked lakes. It will be offered in 34 tracts ranging from 1.7 acres to 109 acres.
"Groups of tracts may be purchased together to create large blocks of contiguous tillable land. For example, four tracts may be combined to provide 245 acres, of which 218 acres are tillable. Similarly, another four tracts north of W. Lower Bloomington Road could be combined to provide a contiguous 327 acres, of which 205 acres are tillable," said Schrader.
A number of the tracts provide a combination of tillable and recreational land.
"This area of the state is well known for its excellent hunting of deer, duck and other game, and some of these tracts offer the buyer a nice recreational area along with the cropland," said Schrader. "Or if a buyer wants to create additional tillable acres with some clearing work, this property may provide an opportunity."
The auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center, Terre Haute. Schrader personnel will be available to provide information and guide inspections on May 16, May 28 and June 10.
