State of Farmer’s Economy briefing set for Feb. 19 in Indianapolis

Farming families spend generations acquiring land and building a strong business, and it’s important for family members to communicate effectively to preserve those assets over time. How to accomplish that will be one of the major topics in the upcoming Annual State of the Farmer’s Economy Update in Indianapolis, which will feature Farm Transition Coach Lance Woodbury.

The annual event, sponsored by Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, will also include sessions on farm management and issues that farmers face in the current environment. Other speakers will include R.D. Schrader, president of the company, and Steve Slonaker, owner of Slonaker Farm Management.

“Lance has established a considerable reputation for his approach to farm succession planning, addressing a wide spectrum of issues, such as estate planning, governance and conflict resolution,” said Schrader, whose presentation will focus on the outlook for farmland prices and the factors expected to influence them.

The event, which will be offered free for qualified attendees, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Wellington Fishers Banquet & Conference Center, 9775 North by Northeast Boulevard, in Fishers. The program also will be offered Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club, Venice, Florida.

Individuals interested in attending either event may visit schraderauction.com or call 800-451-2709.
