Farms in Eaton and Barry counties to be offered in November auction

Two Michigan farms -- making up a total of 413 acres that include tillable farmland, wooded areas, a stream, two homes and farm buildings -- will be offered at auction Tuesday, Nov. 10, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the properties and conducting the event.

The land, located southwest of Lansing, includes approximately 255 acres in Bellevue Township, Eaton County. That farm will be offered in seven tracts -- two homes, and land tracts ranging from 45 to 73 acres. The other 158 acres are located in Assyria Township, Barry County, and will be offered in three tracts -- one approximately 78 acres and two that are approximately 40 acres.

"Most of the land on both farms is tillable, with the exception of a 40-acre wooded tract with a stream running through it on the Barry County property. Both locations also include tracts with road frontage. This will be of interest to local operators and investors alike. With our system of bidding, people can make offers on any combination of tracts," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the cafeteria of the Bellevue Jr./Sr. High School, 576 Love Road, Bellevue. Schrader personnel will be available at the property to provide detailed information and accommodate inspections from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, and from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 29. Online bidding will be available by request.
